Glass jars were introduced in the 1910s and were common in the 1950s to 1960s, but were phased out in the mid-1970s. They were re launched in 2009.The jar is made of transparent glass with a clip on lid. Around 1970, the lid changed from three clips to two clips.

Plastic cans containing cellophane covered cigars were introduced in the 1970s and have since disappeared from the market!
15. Travel cigar metal cans
Metal cans are circular or square, with upward pushing lids, regular or cellophane wrapped cigars, placed upright or flat.This packaging ceased production in the mid-1960s, but was reintroduced in 2013 for the new Vigueros packaging.
16. Aluminum cigar travel case
A packaging or box the size of an aluminum flat pocket, which can be hinged or slid, typically holds 5 cigars.This packaging style was discontinued in the mid-1980s. In some old catalogs, packaging of 50 and 100 packages was mentioned: these may refer to packaging boxes containing 10 or 20 packages of 5 pieces each.
